Volunteering
Every successful community project requires hard work by volunteers. GEL wants to help facilitate opportunities by connecting people to local activities in Guelph and Wellington County. Let GEL know if you have a project that needs volunteer support or if you are a business, school, student or citizen wanting to join an existing effort!
Anyone can register a project through our website. Volunteers can also check the group profile page to find contact information to get involved. If you would like an event listed or want the latest information on volunteer opportunities contact us at 763-2652.
To add a project, update your events or become a volunteer please e-mail activities@gelinfo.ca.
GEL can use your volunteer help! Each year GEL requires hundreds of volunteers to support community outreach, strategic projects and funding activities such as EARTH360 and the Smart Changes Environmental Lottery. Please give us a call.
Jobs and Training
GEL routinely receives local, regional and national information on jobs and training. We also attempt to bridge relations with local groups, government organizations and businesses to help improve the environment. Watch for jobs and training opportunities on our website and keep in touch to find out what is happening in the environmental field.
Other organizations can help you get involved with the environment including:
- Volunteer Centre of Guelph/Wellington – a key resource promoting volunteerism and training.
- Wellington-Guelph Community Portal – provides up to date information on the latest services and events around the community.
Call (519) 763-2652 or email activities@gelinfo.ca if you would like your website linked with us.
