It’s Time to Get Smart for the Environment
Guelph Environmental Leadership’s Smart Changes Environmental Lottery challenges everyone to a healthier world on two wheels. When you buy a ticket for the lottery this year, you’re helping fund community-wide environmental projects including action toward a bicycle friendly community in Guelph and area.
There are great bike related prizes including a Wike Cargo City Shopper, 5 Trek Urban Bicycles, a Honda Jazz Scooter as well as other climate conscious prizes such as a Whirlpool Frontloading Washer. There are 25 prizes in total, valued at over ten thousand dollars.
Tickets won’t last at $10 each, 3 for $20 or 6 for $30 and there is only 5,000 available. Make sure you get your tickets by calling GEL at 519 763-2652 before the Trek Bike Early Bird Draw on September 22nd. The Smart Changes Final Draw for all other prizes is October 25th.

Lottery Rules and Regulations
Only 5,000 tickets available. Tickets are $10 each, 3 for $20 or 6 for $30. Ticket purchases are not tax deductible. All tickets in a 3 or 6-pack must contain the same names and mailing address. A 3 or 6-pack of tickets can only be mailed to the address of the primary purchaser. Only tickets that have been paid for, and have been verified as paid for are eligible for respective draws. Tickets must be purchased within Ontario. Purchasers must be 18 years of age or older.
A total of 25 prizes, at a value of $10,170 (including all taxes and freight), will be awarded. All prizes must be accepted as awarded and claimed within one year after the draw date. Winning tickets will be drawn under the supervision of a lawyer or accountant. The early bird draw will take place at 15 Cork Street East, Guelph at 3:00 p.m. Final draws will take place in Old Quebec Street Mall at 3:00pm. Draw order will be: 1) Early Bird on September 22, 2008 and, 2) Final Draws on October 25, 2008. All prizes will be drawn from the least retail value to the highest retail value on each draw date. After each winning ticket is drawn and recorded, it is returned to the drum and is eligible for all subsequent draws.
All winners will be notified by mail and/or phone with complete instructions on how to redeem their prize. A printed list of winners will be available upon request from Guelph Environmental Leadership. Winners agree to the use of their name and photo for publicity purposes by Guelph Environmental Leadership. Prizes may not be exactly as illustrated in promotional material. It shall be the responsibility of the winner of the Scooter to license and insure the vehicle from the time of their ownership.
In addition:
- Tickets must be purchased through cash, cheque, Visa or money order
- Post-dated cheques will not be accepted
- The odds of winning will depend on the number of tickets sold
- The members of the Board of Guelph Environmental Leadership, their immediate family (living in the same household) and the authorizing lawyer or accountant are not eligible to purchase tickets on their own behalf
- Prizes must be accepted as awarded (no substitutions) and must be claimed within one year of the draw date
- There is no opportunity to receive a cash alternative to each prize
- Lottery rules and regulations will be made available to ticket purchasers upon request
- All prize values are approximate based on a suggested retail price
- The liability of the licensee of this lottery shall be limited to the purchase price of the ticket(s)
- GEL is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information. GEL may maintain a record of purchasers for donor-related promotion and tax receipt purposes, where required
- Occasionally GEL may contact purchasers on communications. GEL does not buy, trade or sell lists with other organizations
- GEL has opened a lottery trust account for the sole purpose of holding the lottery
- Financial records will be kept throughout the lottery and during proceed disbursement
